The Winter Escapades Salon was held at Ronni’s home studio in Sarasota, FL on Sunday, March 2, 2014. Twenty-two writers and artists attended and shared their work.
Following is an excerpt written by one of the participants an artist and writer about her reactions to the event.
A Sunday Afternoon Salon
by Joni Duane
Having faith my “Tom Tom” would guide me; I drove to an unfamiliar place for an unfamiliar event. As I turned into the subdivision I navigated the curvy road at the posted 15 miles an hour speed limit. Peacefulness settled over me as I passed home after home canopied with vegetation that cast a blue haze in the stillness. I was struck by the variety of one hue, green; there were blue greens, yellow green, Kelly greens as well as saturated greens and less intense greens…
We all had time to meet and greet as we tasted good tidbits with a glass of wine. The ringing of the bell signaled for us to be seated…
Sitting in a circle, those who wanted to, shared their writings…and art…all (shared) their appreciation for the struggle we all go through to create, express and entertain. Thank you Ronni for providing the casual and comfortable atmosphere in which to express ourselves and for your expert guidance and encouragement. What a delightful afternoon. You have opened up a whole new world to me.
